On the move

We didn't settle in Clifton until we moved to our 3rd home there. Late 1975 Mum announced she was expecting a baby, we were all excited about it. On 2nd July Teresa was born, but things didn't go to plan and Mum needed a caesarian. I remember coming home from school and Dad was pacing up and down the living room. We all saw Teresa before Mum did as she was still drowsy from the anaesthetic. In 1979 we bought a family tent and went on our first holiday to 'Mablethorpe' camping. Mum loved it, she said she had the best night's sleep ever but the cows woke her early in the morning belching at the water trough. In 1982 we went to 'Hemsby' in a chalet. We hired one of those 4 wheeled carts, we told Mum just to sit on it to a photo then Dad and my husband Mark drove off with her. It was so funny as she wasn't expecting them to do that or she would not have got on. Think she enjoyed really though. Dad liked fishing and we spent many summer days by the Trent, Mum liked to fish too but mostly she would sit knitting on the bank. When she went to ante-natal while carrying Teresa the nurses ask where she had been on holiday. Mum replied 'fishing on the Trent'.
